Community Residential Services Program

HDC HomesOur Community Residential Services program offers a wide variety of services from which to choose. Each program strives to assist people to live where they want to live and to help them be as independent as possible.

Group Homes

EOHHDC has three co-ed, adult group homes where individuals who have an intellectual or other developmental disability live together in a family-like setting. Each of these homes is accessible, so people using wheelchairs can easily live in them, as well as those who do not. Staff members are always there when anyone is home. They provide supervision and instruction in cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, accessing the community, and much more.

The CRS Program Director is Coordinator of Section 504 Compliance for HDC Group Homes, 563-344-8688, 3402 Hickory Grove Road, Davenport, IA 52806

Supported Community Living Services

HDC Home AloneSupported Community Living Services are individualized to each person's needs. People can receive this service while living at home with their family or while living in an apartment or house by themselves or with roommates. Staff members assist individuals with upkeep of the household, shopping, meal preparation, money handling, recreational activities, and going out into the community. For some people, staff need to be there whenever they are home, while others may only have a staff member with them once a week. Services are tailored to each individual's needs and vary according to those needs.

Respite Services

HDC provides respite services that offer families a break from the demanding responsibility of caring for and living with an individual with a disability
24-hours-a-day. While providing a break for the family, the individual also has an opportunity to spend time with friends and learn some new skills.

HDC Respite ServicesTrained staff members are available to come to a family's home and provide supervision to children and adults with disabilities while family members run errands, go to appointments, or just relax. This arrangement is in-home respite.

Recreational activities are available twice each week for teenagers and adults. See the chart below for this month's schedule.
